The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Propel Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.
An Opportunity for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"
Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.
“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it fails to, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”
Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.
“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Recording Origins and Featured Artists
The song was recorded in the wake of a major charity concert held in the autumn. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.
The impressive roster of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a range of well-known figures from the industry. All participated in the benefit event, which managed to collect a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was crafted by a trio of producers and composers. The song blends a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.
The group managing the initiative have clarified that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These resources will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an established charity.
“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a figure said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”
The situation in the region was noted for its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings said to be levelled or seriously harmed.
“Given that reality, a few million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”
The track is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a digital service from the 19th of December.
