Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, but will the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.
My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
